Less broadly, atheism is the rejection of belief that any deities exist. In an even narrower
sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities. Atheism is

I've always known you to say that atheists are people who believe (assert) that there is "no God",
which is false, or, at best, the narrowest definition from above.
I hadn't realised (until recently) the extent to which you've interwoven it with politics. Can you
get anything right about what atheism actually is?
