Maud Lewis was a Canadian "primitive" painter and a lifelong sufferer of
rheumatoid arthritis. MAUDIE chronicles her life with her husband, both
also relatively primitive. An affecting performance by Sally Hawkins,
and a who-knew one from Ethan Hawke, make this gorgeously photographed
story quite watchable. Solidly recommended.
