Adapted from a novel called 'The Chinaman', THE FOREIGNER delivers
Jackie Chan as a diffident Rambo seeking justice. At 61, Chan is still
an appealing presence (even as he grudgingly gives *some* way to stunt
doubles). This flick also has the asset of a well-textured adversary,
wearing many hats, mostly grey. Unfortunately, though either theme
could've supported an engaging story, here they seem merely cross-cut --
awkwardly enough to give the viewer whiplash. Somewhat recommended.
