I took a look here, and a very interesting pattern emerges over the last 
40 years:

Each time, debt as a percentage of GDP climbed at an accelerating rate 
under Republican presidents, and then the trend was reverseed and the 
debt was decreasing at the end of each Democrat's administration.

But facts really aren't your thing, are they, wing nuts?

Nor, apparently, is consistency.
