It depends on how automatic such rumors are. If, as I suspect, they're
as common as head lice in daycare, that'd face someone like Schur with
daily choosing whether to be a producer or a crusader, with the
certainty of being reviled for either.

I didn't hear that he did it to cover up something else. What had happened?

The details aren't public but apparently he was getting into trouble
over something he did and decided to write "Go Home N*****" on the
whiteboard outside his room. Since that might be suspicious he did it
to 4 other rooms so that no one would suspect him. Apparently after
the big hoopla with a public speech against such behavior (on all the
news networks even) he came forward and admitted he did it to himself.

The opposite end of the spectrum from the military hazing Muslim
recruits by throwing them down 3 story stairwells or putting them into

Oh, we passed that point some time ago.

And based on the Spacey affair must be kept for decades afterwards.

I remember doing things 30 years ago I'd like to take back (NOT in
this department!) but which I barely recall the details of. Guess my
Hollywood career would be over.....there's a vast difference between
Weinstein's misdoings and what's being accused now.

Most NDAs are permanent. Some are "until the project you worked on is
released" but I've got some of those where the project weren't never
released, so they become permanent as well.

for violating it since it officially didn't exist.

If one is not to disclose the existence of an NDA what would you

"I can't/don't talk about that."

I know lots of people that pull that one.

But there is a big difference here. Would journalists allow mostly garbage accusations on the air or
not? Do they have ways of confirming them. Proof is always needed. That's the difference.

But what proof has been presented in the majority of these cases?

Sure, Weinstein paid off that gal(s) and half-assedly apologized, effectively
admitting to his actions and Spacy also essentially admitted it but it seems
to me at least, that most of these accusations the media are reporting have
nothing to back them up.

They’re just “reporting” Twitter posts as fact.

The allegation by Anthony Rapp may have put Spacey in the spotlight, but
ultimately what took out Spacey was the same as what is now getting
Louis C.K. It is a downfall as the result of current workplace
investigations indicating a current, ongoing pattern of impropriety.

Now, as to why the current suspension / firing of these men is extending
into retroactively removing their product from the shelves...that sort
of reaction borders on mass hysteria.

It is not on the border of mass hysteria, it ran screaming over the
border and needs binoculars on the back of its head to see the border now.
