After my first workout since Thanksgiving week, I watched:

VANDERPUMP RULES:
Well, I tried to watch but I kept nodding off.

What did you watch?

--
Dems & the media want Trump to be more like Obama, but then he'd
have to audit liberals & wire tap reporters' phones.

Not much:

Chicago Med (recorded) - "Trust Your Gut" (ep. #3.3). Covered yesterday
by Obv. I actually quite enjoyed the case Dr. Charles/Sarah Reese got -
I liked that it played against expectations: you start out thinking it
was going to be another round in their current workplace philosophical
debate, but then it went somewhere totally different, and in the end
both were "wrong" about the diagnosis! Meanwhile, I hate that b**** Ava
Bekker, and hope Rhodes ends up ax-murdering her! And won't poor
Halstead get "freezer burn" falling asleep on the Ice Princess like
that?! - It's like wrestling with Killer Frost!!

12 Rounds (a Showtime, I think) - This was dumb fun. I guess if you
want a dumb but fun action movie, Renny Harlan is your guy. This fit
the bill. I especially liked the sequence with the out-of-control
trolley car (this was set in New Orleans...).
It does seem that I can't excape my two "favorite" actresses, Ashley
Scott and Lauren Holly, though - they seem to be in much of what I
watch these days... :( This movie did make me realize that Taylor
Cole went through a "heavier" phase that I did not know about before...

I saw some of "Riverdale" - they had Cheryl in a towel, but in only one
scene. Then they had Betty do an unnecessary striptease (after Archie
and Veronica did a decent take on the cover of "Mad World")... How come
no one told me The Vampire Babysitter/Queen Lyria was now on this show?!

SEAL Team - The gang has to go into China near the Afghan border to
rescue a couple of assets defecting from Russia. The new kid does OK on
the mission. "Angel" ends up saving their bacon at the end when he
realizes he can use flash-bangs to screw up the Russian team's
night-goggles so that the SEALs can escape back into Afghanistan.
Decent epie.
I am wondering how long it is before Angel decides to forget about
the ex-wife, and steal himself some "Mandy smoochies", though...

Recorded for later: Vikings (which I now have a backlog of...), and Knightfall.

"Three light sabers? Is that overkill? Or just the right amount
 of "kill"?" - M-OC, "A Perilous Rescue" (ep. #2.9), LSW:TFA (08-10-2017)

Obv doesn't watch this one. It was I.

I did on more than one occasion.

I'd think Mandy would be off limits due to working together. I still
don't trust Alona Tal's character.

Ian is just trying to keep his tradition alive regarding his being wrong
about everything.

Meanwhile, did no one actually watch KNIGHTFALL?

Current review status:

KNIGHTFALL: 50% (5of10) at Rottentomatoes and 8.2 (142ratings) at IMDB.
HAPPY!: 75% (14of21) at Rottentomatoes and 8.1 (83ratings) at IMDB.

That suggests a very small sampling for both.

Like others, I recorded but have not yet watched KNIGHTFALL.

I'm still wondering if anybody but me watched this week's awful DA
FLASH. I was waiting for somebody else to start the review so I could
froth and rant.

I watched a couple more Cash Cab reruns, and then FRANKIE DRAKE
MYSTERIES (there is apparently no 'The' in the title).

An unholy triple mashup of MURDOCH MYSTERIES, MISS FISHER, and WOMEN'S
MURDER CLUB, FDM presents the adventures of the first female private
dick in Toronto in the 1920s (abeit being filmed in Ontario a century
later). It looks to be produced by the MURDOCH production company. It
features the lesser of the early stars of MUTANT X as Frankie Drake, a
modern woman of even looser morals than Miss Fisher (and who has almost
identical origins), a lovely black actress named Chantel Riley as
Frankie's lovely black partner in the agency, Trudy, Sharron Matthews as
the rather zaftig M.E. (guess this has some THE CORONER in the mix too),
and, by far the most important, the incredibly lovely, incredibly
talented, incredibly skinny Rebecca Liddiard as Mary Shaw of the
Morality Police (!). Some of youts may recall her as officer 0.12-12.0
of HOUDINI AND DOYLE. While on the earlier show she was grim but
charming, here she steals every scene she's in as the goofy comic
relief. She even does a bit with Matthews about how she's too skinny!
They made a big deal in the publicity about a fifth lady in the cast,
Grace Lynn Jung as Whiskey Wendy, but all she's done in the 5 episodes
aired to date is serve them coffee. As you'd expect in a MURDOCH
derivative, historical figures like Ernest Hemingway and Max Sennet show
up, as do delectable Canadia guest stars like Laura Vandervoort. The
good outweighs the bad, the bad being that it's all so unrealistically
progressive and given it's Murdoch heritage they're going to invent the
forensic techniques we take for granted today (and get them
embarrassingly wrong). It's not great by any means, but if you're a fan
of MM, MF, or WMC this is something you'd likely enjoy.

Fred-Box sez "Check it out"

Does anyone know if this is available anywhere in the U.S.?

It stars Lauren Lee Smith, so I'd like to at least sample it some time...

CNN: "Trump's wall could cost an estimated $120 - $150 per household."

My questions:

Personal check or money order?
Where do I send it?

The Cards Against Humanity yahoos...fun card game.

The US could always build the wall on the north side of their property
and cede their property to Mexico.

> They really really haven't thought this through.

I think the idea was to force a supreme court case regarding whether or
not the government can claim eminent domain and condemn their property
just to build a wall. I don't see how they can win the case, but it
also seems like a fairly low cost way for them to at least have the
right to a court case rather than being brushed off as having no
standing like most everyone else who realizes that the wall is an
idiotic waste of funds.

Put away your gun so you don't shoot Iris in her first scene.

Well I have now watched it,
& found a copy of a post of a review of the episode
which I thought was you, anim.

Quoting from it:
> First Barry escapes then specifically tells the villain *how* he
> escapes. WHY?!?! What if needs to escape the same way again?

He was probably thinking that the Thinker wouldn't understand how he
escaped by standing still any more than I did."

I didn't understand how either.

Quoting again:
> the end Barry is framed but still has time to use his speed to save
> himself, but he doesn't? To quote Dark Helmet, "...evil will always
> triumph because good is dumb." He could have left and taken the
> incriminating evidence with him. He's the *Flash* he had time to circle
> the world! :-/

Yep. He can escape, leaving the cops a locked room mystery. Hey, was
the wheelchair there?

He can dispose of the body and clean up the crime scene. And then walk
up behind the cops and say "my alarm went off, what's up?"

Also, why capture Barry in the first place? He wasn't needed as part of
the plan at all!"

Good points.
I was mystified myself why he gave himself up so easily.

All that above was me.

And he's the police forensic guy! If *anybody* knows how to clean up a
crime scene, it's him!!!

In the "real world", likely, yes. On a TV show?! Smoochies are a'comin'!! ;p

It'll suck if she turns out to be EVOL!!1!

Though, considering the actress' background, she may turn out to be Mossad...

Same question I just asked in my response to Obv. Clearly they've been
showing some chemistry between those two since the beginning.

At least as much as Brigadier General Theodore Marley Brooks had with
his ape.

I watched a news reporter saying that Donald Jr. Refused to answer some questions about the
meeting in Trump Tower about the content of a meeting with Russian representatives, his
lawyers citing "attorney-client privileged." Of course. How silly of us to expect straight,
complete answers. Nevertheless, Congressional Repubs say Don Jr. "answered all questions
satisfactorily." They must be using a different definition of "all," and "satisfactorily."

Just Designated Survivor. The Pres tells staff to respond to three letters from ppl. Leor (?) is
getting less annoying. Looks like Hanna's got a prob with her British bud. It was okay but just okay.

Designated Survivor has officially become West Wing II(remember "take the trash
out day" episode?). Meanwhile they mostly teased the midseason cliffhanger,
not that I don't enjoy this show but its morphed.
