1880s London, and its murky streets teem with bawdy revelry and murder
most foul. Unjustly disgraced detective Bill Nighy is assigned to
capture THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM, whose grisly killings defy logic or
pattern. Nighy's mere presence in this nice production ought to have
been enough to sustain me, but alas, the script seeks to wrap a baker's
dozen of social injustices into its half-baked murder mystery. I never
had enough time to care about any of them. Minimally recommended.

Bill Nighy used to be enough. Not any more.

Part of that was his ability to choose material, which let him down,
here. This flick even has Eddie Marsan in a supporting role. And the
screenplay is from a novel, which usually abets both coherence and
dialogue. It all must've looked pretty good on paper...

The Brits had a great run for a while. It seems to be waning.

You're just being contrarian. If you're going to take a chance on one

I'll have to look at real reviews first.
