A hapless auto-mechanic loses his job -- the beginning of a bad
day/week/etc. Vince Vaughn dons his acting chops for BRAWL IN CELL
BLOCK 99, the latest offering from S. Craig Zahler of the
bizarre-yet-compelling BONE TOMAHAWK. Like the latter movie, the
unrated BRAWL packs a primitive punch that many viewers may judge
below-the-belt. But, for those willing to waive their rights, it's
solidly recommended.

It has a baroque vagueness. It was a fun watch and two movies in one much like Bone Tomahawk. Not
much of a lasting impact.

Their unique style was part of both movies' "charm". Maybe by his next
(starring Vaughn and Mel Gibson), it'll wear thin. (Fwiw, apart from
BT, the flick this one brought to my mind was Friedkin's THE HUNTED.)

How was "Bone Tomahawk" two movies in one?

It goes from an eerie cowboy movie to a full-gore horror flick.

Yeah, I remembered that just after I sent "send." Incidentally, what did
you think about the dialogue, specifically, the comparative floweriness
and complexity of the word choices?

I liked it. Probably more accurate of the time than your usual cowboy flick.

What are some of the recent movies that do have "lasting impact"?
